Bragging Rights Are Up For Grabs for Melges IC37 Sailors at the 165th New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta

NEWPORT, R.I. (June 13, 2019) — After two years of anticipation and a mere two weekends training on the water, Melges IC37 Class members will take to Narragansett Bay in Newport for their first real opportunity to face-off for the ultimate bragging rights as “best-in-class.” But in this innovative amateur one-design class, there is more than one way to win the esteemed title.

18 Melges IC37 teams comprised of family, friends, men, women, youth sailors, and veterans alike are slated to compete in the 165th New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta beginning Friday morning.

The regatta features an around-the-island race coupled with two days of buoy racing and renowned social events that deliver the perfect combination of intense competition and unrivaled camaraderie—the very dynamic the Melges IC37 Class Association and the IC37 by Melges were designed to achieve.
